Amazon Mom Review – Free Amazon Prime As Well As Discounts

Have you heard of Amazon Mom yet? It’s a great program that Amazon offers for those with kids or those that take care of kids, from the prenatal stages to the toddler years.

Take a look at the benefits of Amazon Mom:

– 30% Select Diapers and Wipes.  Amazon Mom members get 15% off discount on diapers and wipes.  The other 15% comes from orders you make through their Subscribe and Save program.  That’s 30% off!  With Subscribe and Save you set up a subscription for an item you need, such as diapers, and Amazon will mail it out to based on the schedule you set up.  This could be weekly, monthly, every other month — however you need it.  And the delivery is free.

– Free 2-Day Shipping with Amazon Prime. When you join Amazon Mom you are entitled to free 2-day shipping with their Amazon Prime program for the first 3 months of your membership.  Amazon Prime is awesome!  Rather than free shipping on a purchase of $25 or more you get free 2-day shipping on just about everything (some items, like third party items, aren’t included).

How many times have you NOT wanted to drag the kids out to go to the store?!?  With Amazon Prime you place your order and you get it in 2 days.  We love Amazon Prime!

After your initial three months, you can earn additional months of Amazon Prime when you spend $25 on a single order in the baby shop.  For each single order you can earn another month, up to one year.

– Additional Discount Offers. From time to time you will receive special offers for products only available to Amazon Mom members.

– Free to Join. This is open to all parents and caregivers.  Basically anyone taking care of a child is eligible.  Though the program is geared towards younger children (up to toddler age) there’s really no age restriction.

A note on Subscribe and Save: If you are like me you might be a little concerned with setting up a subscription to buy something automatically.  I was concerned I’d have too many diapers or wipes (the products we basically subscribe to).  I didn’t want more charges than needed on my credit card.  Reasonable, right?

Thing is, Subscribe and Save works really well.  You can manage your account by clicking the Your Account link and then click Manage Subscribe & Save Items in Orders.  There you will see the items you are subscribed to.  You can see your schedule, when the last shipment was sent, and when the next shipment is expected to go out.

Now here’s the part I really like.  You have the option to skip a shipment (if you think you are good for now) change the date of future shipments (if you find you need the items on a different schedule), or send an extra shipment now.

These options make the program really customizable!  You also have the option to cancel your subscription at any time.

Is Amazon Mom worth signing up for?

I totally recommend signing up.  Besides the obvious convenience of having items shipped free, the prices, after discount, are really good.  We used to get our diapers and wipes at BJ’s Wholesale.  After our 30% discount, we’ve found the Amazon Mom prices to be better than BJ’s.  And let’s talk about the convenience factor.  Here’s what we have done: we pile the kids into the mini-van and head off to BJ’s.  We intend to only get diapers, wipes, and maybe a few other items we need.  What we come home with is over $200 of stuff, much of which we didn’t really need.  Add to that, dealing with the kids (we have three) getting bored and wanted to run around the store.  Yeah, even if Amazon’s prices we the same as BJ’s or a little more it would still be worth ordering through them.

So if you want to save money and time, and who doesn’t, then go check out Amazon Mom for yourself!
